Chapter 9
The Great Wyvern and Mt. Lawren

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Agile: How should I say this to him……
The door to the the King’s Chamber opened.
Knight: The King will see you now Agile.
Agile was in a long dark hall. It seemed vaguely familiar from sometimes before.
Agile: Thank you..
The walls were lined with dull portraits in the hallways and dark purple carpeting lead to the King’s Chamber. Agile got himself ready and stepped in. The room was very large and lined with statues of dragons. A mysterious man sat at a throne far away. There was only one throne…
Agile: King Blister….
A low vibrating voice came from the throne.
King Blister: Agile, do you have it?
The throne room was covered with dragon statues and portraits all over. A huge chandelier hung in the middle, providing the only light other than two torches on the wall by the entrance. A dark dimness covered the entire room.
Agile: King… When I got there….
King Blister: Answer me, do you have it!
Agile: No…
King Blister: I expected greater from my top swordsman…
Agile: King Blister….
King Blister: Agile, I’ve heard enough, if you cannot obtain the next power than I will be forced to demote you! You will begin your quest for the second power tomorrow morning! Not early! Not late!
Agile: (I knew that tree had power in it! If only I had gone to it post haste, that guy wouldn’t of had a chance to get there before me!)
Agile: I am sorry-
King Blister: Didn’t you hear me Agile! Out!
The Knight opened the door and lead Agile out.
Agile: (Stupid King thinks I would actually get the power and give it directly to him…. He probably doesn’t even realize he has a gift…)
Knight: You are to depart tomorrow morning. Not early… Not late…
Agile: Yes, thank you..
Agile: (They treat me like I’m so low… I hate this…)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lukis: We better get going, it’s a real long way up.

Bomb: After we get the wyvern we should depart directly for Luminy castle.

Lukis: I have a map so I think I can figure out where it is….

Bomb: Let’s go…

Bomb and the other two proceeded down the town to a large gate. It was a large mass of silver, spikes at the top to prevent people climbing over. It was as tall as a house and as wide as an elephant. Infront of the gate was a large path heading to the mountain. The path looked like it was simply made of peoples footsteps on the ground. It was easy to see it though. After they reached the gate a guard stopped them.

Bomb: We have permission to climb the-

Guard: Oh, it’s you. Ok, you may go up the mountain. Try to follow the path…

The guard opened the gate and the 3 stepped inside. They began to walk off to the mountain and heard the gate shut behind them.

Bomb: So what is this mountain called?

Lukis: Mt. Lawren… That’s all….

Karen: Bomb, how come you never told us what happened in the Sand Orchard?

Bomb: ……..

Lukis: We have to know sometime...

Bomb: .. Well….. When I got inside of there.. I saw this weird blue light….

Bomb began telling them about the light and of the legend it spoke of. As he talked they got closer and closer to the mountain.

Lukis: So what is this Legend thing?

Bomb: Like, I was born in the place that light lived. Some world of the God’s and I was born with a purpose to fulfill a legend.

Lukis: The World of the God’s?

Bomb: Yeah, maybe it’s another dimension or something, I don’t know yet…

Lukis: So what did it tell you about the Legend?

Bomb: It’s kind of weird, it told me that there were two villains in my Legend. One was Kyros, and there was one other…

Karen: This is crazy…

Bomb: It’s true, I mean how can you explain what you saw Kyros and Agile do. All those invisible blasts and that other one that knocked us away but didn’t kill us. It was like magic…

Karen: … Well….

Karen: (It all seems so crazy but there is no way to explain what I saw..)

Bomb: Anyways, the one weird thing was, he showed me a tablet of my Legen-

Lukis: Tablet?

Bomb: Yes, those are like stones that my Legend was encrypted on. The light said he’d been studying them. He said once I got to the 2nd point he would show me another.

Karen: The 2nd?

Bomb: Yes, in each point he would show me a new tablet…

Karen: Oh.

Bomb: Well, on this tablet it showed the other villain, except with wings…

Lukis: Wings?

Bomb: Yeah… It confused me a lot….

Lukis: Is Agile a Winged Lyrian?!

Bomb: I don’t know….

Karen: Was Agile the one that saved me? It didn’t sound like Agile…

Bomb: I don’t think so…

By now the group, without even noticing, was already going up the mountain path. It twisted around and up the mountain and seemed to get steeper with every step. They could not see an end and even trying seemed hopeless. They could see the forest around them getting lower and lower and farther away, they could see the treetops but not the top of the Kingdom. The trees stretched on forever. All the mountain seemed to be was a huge rock, nothing very interesting. Rocks poking out of eachother, some jagged, some rounded. Some were as small as gravel and some boulders loomed around the mountain too. The mountain was just rock with a small path on it. Dark rock and faraway trees were all that surrounded them. They kept going up but just saw the same environment over and over.

Karen: So Bomb, who are your parents?

Bomb: My parents? I don’t know, I was just born into a small town and everyone treated me like I was their child. I don’t even know if I had a mom or a dad…… What about you?

Karen: Both my mom and dad died when I was little..

Bomb: Sorry…

Bomb: (Gee, she has no parents too….)

Karen It’s ok, so Lukis, what about your parents!

Lukis: I don’t know…..

Karen: What?

Lukis: I had a dad and a mom but they all got lost… Out at sea… My dad was a captain. Will, Captain Will… One day he went out and he never came back. He went with my mom too..

Karen: Oh sorry…

Bomb: Well, at least we all have one thing in common.

Lukis: No parents….

Bomb: Well anyways, what is our plan for the Luminy Castle? Just barge in and find Agile?

Lukis: Well it depends, if the wyvern is big enough we could attack it… Otherwise we could go undercover.

Bomb: Ok, that’s probably the best any idea we'll get, seeing as in nobody knows anything about the castle.

Lukis: I guess….

Karen: So Bomb, did you find anything out about that statue?

Bomb: Nothing interesting…

Bomb: (The White… Lyrian…. All confuses me.. And that mountain.. Is this that mountain?!)

Karen: Bomb?

Bomb: Huh?

Karen: Nothing, you just looked a little…

Bomb: …..

Karen: Nevermind…

Karen: (He looked excited… And a little afraid too…. This mountain is just driving me crazy…)

Lukis stopped and walked over to the side. He peered over the edge and began looking around.

Karen: Wow, we’re up high!

Karen walked over and looked at the beautiful scenery.

Karen: Wow….

Bomb just stood there, watching them… It was very windy up this high. Windy and chilly. The wind whipped their hair around.

Bomb: Watch out, you don’t want to fall over.

Karen turned around and looked at Bomb.

Karen: Thanks for caring, but I don’t think I’ll be falling over anytime soon! I have a good sense of balance!

Bomb: …

Lukis rolled his eyes but nobody saw.

Lukis: (Oh great, I hope they don’t act like this the whole way up…)

Karen: Wow, look at all the beautiful trees from up here!

Lukis: I wonder if I can see Jinz from here. JINZ!

Bomb: Lukis…

Bomb chuckled a second under his breath.

Lukis: JINZ!! Hey! What’s that?

Karen looked around.

Karen: Where? Oh!

Off in the distance they could see something.

Lukis: What is that? Some sort of bird? Quite big….

Karen squinted and look harder.

Karen: ….. That’s…..

Lukis: He’s here?!

Bomb ran over to the edge and almost fell over. It was him.

Bomb: Damn, I don’t have time for him again!

He zoomed to the bottom of the mountain out of their sight. They looked over the edge for him but he couldn’t be seen. A few seconds past and he shot up infront of them. He shot up right past the ledge they were standing on.

Karen: Ah!

Karen fell back and Lukis turned around. Kyros lowered down slowly to the ground.

Kyros: So you are here for it to?!

Lukis: Jerzyl?!

Kyros: Who?

Bomb: The wyvern!

Kyros: You think I am stupid! I know what you are really here for!

Bomb: What?

Kyros: I know why you came to this particular mountain!

Bomb: (What’s he talking about?)

Lukis: We don’t have time to deal with you.

Kyros: You won’t have to! I’ll be finished in mere seconds!

Lukis: (Not this again….)

Karen: This is crazy! We are on a mountain!

Bomb: Kyros! Stop! What’s wrong with you?!

Kyros pulled a foot back and pulled his hands near his chest. Then he pushed off the mountain into the air and began the trick he started in Delban.

Kyros: Let’s see you dodge this!

Bomb: Spread out!

The three spread out around the small mountain range they were on and Kyros hands began turning red.

Kyros: Crisis Ray!

A flash of light blasted from Kyros. A beam of fire, of energy, came down. It was a laser flash of red and orange light, like as if it were fire energy or something of that sort. The beam seemed to pulsate into itself and it shoot down to the middle of the three.

BOOOOM!! RSCKKKKK!

It hit nobody but smashed right into the mountain. The beam didn’t stop. It dug right into the mountain shooting dust and rocks all over, making a smokescreen barely anybody could see in. The ray of energy was about as big as a person. It didn’t stop and it just kept digging into the mountain at a quick rate tearing up all the area in front of it, but still not close enough to harm anyone.

Lukis: He could cause the whole mountain to tumble! *cough*

Bomb: Kyros! *cough* Are you insa- *cough*

Bomb: (Why is he doing this?!)

Kyros: Did I get anybody?!

Kyros began to turn in the air and the ray followed spraying over the other half of the area. Bomb began to feel the area around him shake, but he couldn't see the beam through the rock dust.

Bomb: Whoa!

Bomb: (Holy moly! It coming!)

Bomb tried to run and he felt the ray coming closer but he had his eyes shut. The shaking became more and more fierce and soon he fell to his knees and rolled. He rolled over the gravel and fallen shards of rock that stung his back. He rolled right off until he couldn’t feel the ground beneath him.

Bomb: Ahhhh!

Bomb: (Oh man! Were'd the ground go!) Bomb still couldn't see anything.

Kyros: Did I get so- Ahh!

A boomerang shot out of the wreckage dust and smoke and was heading to Kyros.

Kyros: Whoah!

Kyros maneuvered around the boomerang taking his ray with him.

RSCKKKK!

As he turned and dodged the ray spread across the entire mountain and tore up the top of the area and then it went off into the sky. The explosion noise settled down a little and only the crumbling rocks and energy pulsing could be heard. Kyros cut the beam off quickly.

Kyros: Jeez! You almost got me!

Kyros waited in the air for the dust to clear so he could get a better shot.

Kyros: I bet you thought you’d get me with that trick again didn’t you!

BAM!

Kyros: Oww!

The boomerang smashed right into the back of Kyros head…

Kyros: Oh….

Kyros began lowering from where he was floating.

Kyros: Getting dizzy….

Then he just stopped floating and fell to oblivion. The dust began to clear and soon our heroes could see eachother.

Karen: *cough* Why does he do that?! I never hurt him….

Lukis: I don’t know…. *cough*…

The boomerang whipped back and Karen caught with her hand.

Karen: Well looks like I saved the day again!

Lukis: Yeah…. Where’s Bomb?

Karen: Bomb?

Karen looked around.

Karen: Hey!

Lukis: I heard him screaming….

Karen: Oh no, where is he!

Lukis: Bomb…………

Karen scrambled over to the edge of the mountain.

Karen: Bomb!

Lukis: Man, he tore this mountain up, I wouldn’t be surprised if it fell over any minute.

Karen: Bomb’s gone! Quit thinking of yourself!

Bomb: Unn… I’m fine…

Karen: Huh?

A hand grabbed onto the mountain ledge a few feet away and up came Bomb, pulling himself up shaking.

Bomb: Ohhh…

Karen: Hey!

Karen ran over to Bomb and pulled him up.

Karen: You Ok?! What happened?!

Lukis rolled his eyes.

Lukis: (Geez….)

Lukis: We really have to get going….

Bomb: Nothing, I just fell off, we need to get going..

Bomb got up and so did Lukis. Lukis looked at the wreckage. All around there were bits of shredded rock and there was huge hole of jagged rock from the beam. It seemed to go right through the mountain.

Lukis: Oh boy…. We really got to go!

Lukis ran off up the mountain.

Bomb: Wait up!

Bomb ran after him. Karen was still on her knees and looked off the ledge.

Karen: ……..

Karen: (Lukis doesn’t care about anything..)

Karen got up and took one last look at the scenery. They were up really high.

Karen: Wow…

Bomb: Karen! Hurry up!

Lukis: My God! Look at it! LOOK AT IT!

Karen scampered off to Lukis and Bomb.

Lukis: LOOK!! IT’S HUGE!!

Karen ran around the corner of the mountain and saw Bomb and Lukis staring up at a huge statue. They were finally at the very top of the mountain, a smooth plateau. The statue was surrounded by trees and it was so big she almost fainted.

Karen: Oh!

It’s wings spanned the length of a house, each. It’s neck was as high as a 2 story building. It’s talons were as big as a bicycle.

Karen: Oh my…..

It’s eyes were shut and it’s head looked up into the sky. It was a gray statue, just like the statue in Lawren. It had it’s mouth open in a scream, it’s tongue hanging out and it’s great razor teeth shining out. It’s wings were spread straight out and it’s tail lay motionless in the air, as if it were waving around when it froze. It’s nostrils were huge… It’s eyelids… Its beautiful long wings..

Lukis: Well… I guess we know what plan to use now, now don’t we?

Bomb: ……… We can’t do this!

Lukis: What?

Bomb: It isn’t tame!!! It will crush us in a second flat!

Lukis: Bomb..

Bomb: It’s as big as a train! The Sand Snake was a bug compared to this!!

Lukis: We have to try!

Bomb: …….

Karen: Oh my…..

The creatures sorrowful face looked up to the sky, as if it thought it were dying. Taking it’s last moments gazing into the beautiful clouds of the sky. How a beast as gracious as this became petrified was a mystery. No beast could even come close. The sun was eclipsed behind it’s huge head. It was frozen in time, roaring in defeat into the sun, still roaring into the sun today, frozen in time...
